Amboseli sopa Lodge photo

A Amboseli Lodge Safari, sounds like, and would be like a dream come true. Where do you go, and where do you stay when you are looking to take a luxury or budget lodge safaris in Amboseli or Masai Mara, Kenya? This is the key question, and at least part of the answer could well lie in choosing Amboseli National Park as a favorite place to get photographs of elephants against a backdrop of the snow capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is easily reached from Nairobi and one of the best, if not the best place to stay is the Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Amboseli national park was Kenya’s first established game park. Since 1948, millions of international guests, including Hollywood film companies, have been drawn to the park by the magic of Mt. Kilimanjaro-the snowcapped mountain reaching to the sky above, with wildlife grazing under flat-topped thorn trees below.

In Amboseli, more than in any other park of Kenya, you are guaranteed to see many elephant. Elephant herds are easily visible across rolling grassy savannas, usually grazing their way to and from major feeding grounds or water holes. The Amboseli National park forms part of the Amboseli ecosystem made up of open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshlands. Temporary Lake Amboseli forms during the rainy seasons and dries during long dry periods. Mount Kilimanjaro landscapes the park reflecting its magnificent stature on the horizons. Amboseli National Park is both accessible by road from Nairobi or by light aircrafts landing at Empusel gate in the park or Kilimanjaro Buffalo lodge airstrip and Namanga town then drive to the park gate where entry is by KWS Smart Card. The Park is about 315 Kilometers from Nairobi using Namanga route and 291 Kilometers using the Nairobi- Emali route. From Mombassa, the park is mostly accessed through the Tsavo West using the Kimana Gate.
