Bird Watching Safaris
Bird watching safari in Kenya is the best place for sightings. There is no better way of feeling close to nature and relaxing peacefully other than taking a birding safari with us. Once on the birdwatching tour just soak in all the birdcalls and become one with the whole environment. Bird watching safari in Kenya & Uganda will keep you thrilled to no limits.

We have many locations where you can go on birdwatching safaris from the city and towns to the rural areas as far as our forests. Early morning is the best time, as the birds will be searching actively for food. If you are looking to add to your list, Africa is a holiday destination you must tour. Kenya is one of the world’s most superb birding

destinations and a must-visit for amateur and professional birders as the seamless overlapping habitats provide many bird species within short distances. Our bird watching safari itineraries are best suited for birders seeking a slow but detailed tour that gives the very best of the Kenya bird life in a very relaxed atmosphere.

We have carefully selected the Important Biodiversity Areas and with a minimum of 2 to 3 night stays in every location, you will have quality time devoted to birding instead of spending long hours on long road transfers - and this is what makes our birding tours different. Sometimes the trip length does not matter - any safari will provide an excellent species count for the ardent bird watcher. Kenya is one of the richest bird areas in the world. With a wealth of different habitats, often close to each other, it's quite easy to spot over 100 species in one day. Although many of the birds are brightly colored and exotic looking, they are generally quite easily recognized; within a day or two you will be identifying the various species with ease! Their main habitats include water, open plains, woodlands and farmlands. On or near water, you will find bright pink Flamingos, Hammerkops, iridescent Kingfishers, Plovers, Herons, Storks, Geese, Cranes, Jacanas and of course the magnificent African Fish Eagle. In certain places along the coast there are breeding pairs of Osprey as well. The open savannah plains, where the majority of the big safaris take place, offer excellent bird watching opportunities for some unusual ground dwellers.

The Ground Hornbill, at nearly 110 cm. tall is one of the largest and most visible; the tall Secretary bird is also spotted often. Eagles, vultures, and ostrich, the largest bird on earth, are also spotted frequently. The smaller plains birds, such as the Ox-peckers, snowy white Egrets, brilliant Sunbirds and bustards are also found in abundance; you can't miss seeing birds on any game drive! Near the woodlands, you'll find yet more species with starlings of every color, Bee-eaters, Drongos, Hornbills, Shrikes, the beautiful Lilac-breasted Roller, Barbets and Guinea Fowl. Arriving into the big city airports, frequently the first birds spotted are the urban and farmland dwellers, such as the Wagtails and Weaverbirds, with their huge nest colonies.

We invite you to our unique way of birding whereby we take birding back to its very basics, of observing birds in their natural habitats in a relaxed way. As birders, this is the principle we use in our personal birding excursions and it is the same we use when designing and delivering birding itineraries. Our Africa birding tours are about spending more time birding in the places we tour than most tours companies do. Our focus is to let our clients enjoy birding by their ability and not at the pace, speed and the pressure of a tour leader. Our birds & ornithological guides are competent ornithologists and passionate birders who spend most of their time on birding safaris in Kenya. They are enthusiastic about birds and they sincerely want to share their experience with you. We are justifiably proud of them and we believe they're the best in the business as they are not driven by their personal agenda of listing the highest number in a tour; instead they work to ensure that the clients have a wonderful birding experience based on their ability.
Please note that on your birding trip, you need birding binoculars, an ornithology book for better identification of Kenya birds. Our ultimate aim is to make all your dreams come true without straining your purse. We pride ourselves in that we always manage to put together affordable expeditions that save our clients some money yet fulfill their travel desires. Our exciting tour packages are carefully crafted to satisfy your specific travel purposes unlike travel to many other destinations, the pearl of Africa requires input from an experienced safari specialist especially a local travel operator-who we are.
