Elephant pepper Camp in Maasai Mara

Elephant Pepper Camp photo

Elephant Pepper Camp is a step back in time. It was formerly called Masai Mara Camp and is named after the Warburgia Ugandense tree, which is commonly known as the Elephant Pepper tree. It is a true luxury safari bush camp with all the comforts and none of the stress of the modern world. Here you steep under canvas, out in the open with the night sounds of the game and the fresh scent of the earth, grass and bush around you.
This is an original bush camp, eco-friendly, committed to finding a way of life that does not harm the wilderness, and revenue from the camp goes back to the local community

Elephant Pepper Camp Hotel is put up for the season and then packed away to leave no trace behind.

The homely atmosphere of this camp is part of its charm. Clients can relax with nature, no generators, no vehicles passing, no permanent structures jarring the skyline, just the sights and sounds of the bush which completely surround you. Leave the modern world behind, return to the traditional bush safari camp: starlit nights, campfire tales and hurricane lamps. Elephant Pepper Camp is a step back in time but with modern comforts: evenings by the campfire and dinner under the stars are a special feature of this tented camp. Situated right on the Northern Edge of the Maasai Mara reserve this 8-tented bush camp, is tucked away in a prime wildlife area.

Arriving at the luxury camp is like coming home. Here you relax with no vehicles, electricity or noisy generators, no permanent structures, just the open plains stretching before you. This is where you sit around the campfire after a day outdoors in true safari style: swapping stories, discussing the stars or listening to the sound of hyena hunting nearby. And so to bed, your tent is roomy and welcoming with comfortable twin or double beds, an adjoining dressing area, a safari 'bucket' shower, filled with hot water on request.

Families are welcome and early meals and a baby-listening service can be arranged. The food is traditional Northern Italian recipes: fresh bread, pasta, combined with traditional and local favorites.Your host and driver guides are kind and experienced, welcoming you to a different rhythm and way of life. The ritual becomes addictive: early morning game drives to watch the waking plains, then back to camp for lunch followed by a siesta in camp or time to write your diary before tea and a late afternoon guided walk or drive, watching the game as the sun sets. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the world's greatest wildlife experience. The great migration of wildebeest and zebra stalked by their hungry predators is a fascinating and primitive spectacle. Other times of the year also bring wonderful sights: the young calves and cubs born after the rainy season.
