Day 1:  Nairobi
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by AFRICAN SAFARIS AND ADVENTURES representatives who will assist you with transfer to your city Hotel.

Overnight: Nairobi Safari Club

Day 2:  Nairobi/Masai Mara
Breakfast in your Hotel. Leaving Nairobi, you'll travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II.

You'll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok. Travel across acres of wheat and barley before you reach your new destination: Mara Serena Lodge in time for lunch (You have an option of Flying into Mara).

This luxury lodge with its imaginative architecture reminiscent of Maasai Manyattas or villages, sits high on a ridge overlooking the grassland and escarpment of the Mara Reserve. Lunch and Dinner at the Lodge. You will also enjoy a late afternoon game drive.

Day 3:  Masai Mara
Breakfast in your Lodge. Enjoy full day game viewing in the game reserve. All meals in the Lodge

Day 4:  Masai Mara/ Lake Nakuru
Breakfast in your Lodge. Leaving Masai Mara, you'll travel across the "breadbasket" of Kenya - acres of wheat and barley - as you head north to Narok, district headquarters of this part of Maasailand.

Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley - keep an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle - and head up the Mau Escarpment, arriving at your destination: Lake Nakuru, coloured a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores.

You'll arrive at Lion Hill Lodge - affording unforgettable views of the lake from its hillside perch. The Lodge also is a perfect base from which to explore the lake, with its fabulous array of birds as well as many types of game, including waterbuck, rhino, leopard and buffalo.

Lunch and Dinner at your Lodge. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park

Day 5: Nakuru/ Amboseli
After breakfast , Leave Lake Nakuru behind and you begin a panoramic journey that takes you across the top of the Rift Escarpment, offering spectacular views of Lake Elementaita, Lake Naivasha with its Crescent Island, and the Great Rift Valley, with dormant volcano Longonot at centre stage.

Travelling on through Kenya's fertile highlands, where tea and coffee abound, you arrive in Kenya's bustling capital city, Nairobi. Ejnoy your Lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant.

Leaving the Nairobi hustle and bustle behind, you head south across the beautiful and seemingly never ending - Athi plains and arrive at the colourful border town of Namanga, where you may find a good bargain on unique Maasai beadwork.

Here, you'll then turn east to Amboseli National Park at the foot of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, home to a wealth of wildlife but particularly known for its elephants. By lunchtime you'll reach Amboseli Serena Lodge - your base for exploring this corner of Kenya and admiring the dramatic views of Africa's highest mountain.Dinner at the Lodge

Day 6:  Amboseli
Breakfast at the Lodge. An early departure takes you east, across the spectacular Shetani lava flow, reminder of the molten outpouring that spilled down the scenic slopes of the nearby Chyulu Hills over the last three centuries.

A zig - zagging road through scrub thorn and acacia leads you into Tsavo West National Park which, together with Tsavo East, form the largest of kenya's parks. Spotting game as you go, by lunchtime you'll reach Kilaguni Lodge - the first wildlife lodge built in a Kenya national park and home to a myriad of birdlife and an actively visited water-hole.

Enjoy you Lunch and relax. Later in the evening enjoy a game drive in Tsavo park and return to the Lodge in time for Dinner

Overnight: Amboseli Serena Lodge

Day 7 :  Amboseli/Tsavo
Breakfast in the Lodge. After breakfast, head out on an early-morning game drive in Tsavo West National Park, known for its red-coloured elephants.
You'll eventually hit the main Nairobi - Mombasa road and head to Voi, capital of this region.

Then head across the Taru Desert, wild and waterless until you reach Mariakani, where the scrub bush begins to give way to palm groves - just a hint of what lies ahead.

Within a short while you'll pass through Mombasa and get a glimpse of its busy port as you travel south, reaching your luxury hotel?overlooking the incredible white sand beaches and indigo blue waters of the Indian Ocean - by lunchtime.

Day 8/11:  Mombasa
Full day in the hotel to enjoy beach and sand or optional activities in and around Mombasa (see options and supplement costs below)
