Seronera Wildlife Lodge
Seronera Lodge Building
Seronera Wildlife Lodge Tanzania sits upon one of the most important spots in the Serengeti National Park –the migratory route. It provides front-seat viewing of this extraordinary natural phenomenon. Seronera Lodge is artfully constructed round a rocky outcrop from glass and wood elements, perfectly blending into its surrounding.

Next to the lodge, are several waterholes attracting the most amazing animals, providing a unique opportunity for a close encounter with the so called Big Five. Seronera Lodge lies 330 km from Arusha (4.30 hour drive), 150 km from Namanga (Kenyan border) and 265 km from Nairobi. At the very heart of the Serengeti National Park, built around a rock, the Seronera Safari Lodge is ideally located for observing the migration of wildebeest.

At the edge of the Seronera River, this is the ideal starting location for Tanzania Wildlife safaris to discover and explore the wildlife of Africa: lions, cheetahs and elephants.
Seronera Lodge was one of the two original hotel accommodations, hand

picked and specifically built around the heart of Serengeti plains. This was done due to the abundance of resident and migratory wildlife that would often traverse the area at various times of the year. Seronera is one of the most important spots of Serengeti National Park, where you can witness an actual kill in the flesh

The vast and sensational Serengeti National Park is the epitome of most people’s dreams about wild Africa; an endless rolling plain perfectly honor the meaning of its name in the Maasai language, Seregenget or Siringitu and is the place where the land moves on forever. Seronera Wildlife Lodge is one of the most important spots of Serengeti National Park where guests can witness an actual adventure. This area is in the heart of the Serengeti, where all game drives, balloon safaris and catching planes take place. Renowned for the beauty of its skyscape, the Serengeti is home to hundreds of different animal species, including 14-foot-long Nile crocodile which inhabits the Seronera River.

Although this big popular lodge is attractively located around huge rocks and boulders that are next to a number of waterholes, it's also plumb in the middle of Serengeti—an ideal place for superb wildlife viewing. But don't expect the levels of service and luxury you would get from some of the smaller, more exclusive camps.
Artistic Lounge Seronera Lodge
However, it's cheap and cheerful, with small rather drab en-suite rooms with king-size beds and big windows, and a cafeteria-style restaurant and bars that come alive in the evenings when the day's game viewing or ballooning experiences are shared.

(You're only five minutes from balloon lift-off here.) The food is hearty and wholesome with a tasty evening buffet, often accompanied by the snorts and harrumphing of the nearby hippos. You'll certainly see lots of game at close quarters, but lots of other visitors and vehicles, too.

Seronera Wildlife Lodge is situated in the central part of the Serengeti, It has 75 double rooms and the building was constructed in the 1960's almost entirely of wood and glass around a natural "kopjes" or rocky outcrop. The spacious bar and restaurant have views over the plains and there is an open terrace outside from which to view the sunset All rooms have a stunning view of the Serengeti. Please bear in mind that the lodge is in an unfenced conservation area and a variety of wildlife may be found in or around the lodge at any time. Seronera Wildlife Lodge has electricity that is supplied by

generator. There is electricity from 05h00 - 12h00 and from 17h00 - 24h00. There is one bar open daily in the main lounge area. The restaurant provides three meals daily, although varied options, such as bush dinners, are available dependent on occupancy. Menus are varied between buffets and a la carte depending on occupancy. Seronera Wildlife Lodge takes it name from this Seronera River which surrounds the lodge in a u-shape. With year-round water, this is the most reliable part of the park to view wildlife. The elusive Leopard is also common here but less easily spotted. The river tracks offer the best possibilities to view leopard, which usually rest in the branches of the acacia trees.
