Summary:

Tanzania Classic Safari in Tanzania hotels and lodges in Tanzania tours to Tanzania tour operators in Arusha.

Day 1: Nairobi/ Mayfair Court Hotel
Arrive Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, is the largest city in East Africa. It began as a depot of the East African Railroad in 1899, and in little over 90 years has become one of the major cities in modern Africa, and a headquarters of the United Nations

A vibrant and rapidly expanding city, Nairobi is a mosaic of many races and cultures. Interesting sightseeing opportunities in Nairobi include the AFEW Giraffe Center, the Karen Blixen Museum, the National Museum and many arts and craft studios and galleries.

Overnight at the Holiday Inn - the Mayfair Court, a lovely hotel set on lush grounds on the outskirts of Nairobi

Day 2/3: Fly Amboseli National Park, Ol Tukai Lodge
Depart after breakfast for Amboseli National Park.  Amboseli is justly famous both for its big game -- and for its great scenic beauty. The glistening, majestic snow-cap of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain (19,340’) dominates the landscape.

The National Park is 1,249 sq. miles of open plains, extensive stands of yellow-barked Acacia woodland, rocky lava-strewn thorn country, swamps and marshes.

This region is undoubtedly a photographer’s paradise and one of the best places to view and observe elephant.  Two nights at the Ol Tukai Lodge.

Day 4: Fly Nairobi / Drive to Aberdares, The Ark
T
ime permitting; we will stop at the Aberdare Country Club for lunch. The Lyon family from England built the main house of stone in 1937.

In the afternoon, we will transfer to the Ark, Kenya’s best tree hotel. The Ark gives guests a night passage into the secret wildlife world of the Aberdares forest.

Overnight at the Ark

Day 5: Lake Naivasha / Lake Naivasha Country Club
Drive up to the moorland, peaks, and high forest making up the Kinangop Plateau. This road across the Aberdare mountains, open in good weather to 4 wheel drive vehicles only, passes through misty moorlands at about 3350 meters where strange six meter tall mutants of alpine plants including groundsel, erica, hypericum, lobelia and sennecio grow in profusion. Icy rivers plunge in glorious cascades and spectacular waterfalls. Descend into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha.

Overnight at the Lake Naivasha Country Club

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Naivasha Country Club
Lake Nakuru National Park is about a 45-minute drive beyond Naivasha.  The National Park area is 220 sq. km including the entire lake, surrounding swamps, savannah and wooded hills.

The Park supports a variety of wildlife including lion, leopard, hyena, hippo, waterbuck, warthog, primates and many birds including uncountable flamingo for which it is famous. Lake Nakuru National Park is a sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe and both the black and white rhino.

Overnight at the Lake Naivasha Country Club

Day 7/10: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Governor’s Camp
Early breakfast and depart for the Maasai Mara, (approx 5 hours drive). The Maasai Mara is for many reasons the most spectacular game reserve in Kenya — a vast expanse of undulating grass and woodlands where it is possible to see over a dozen different species of game at one time, including all the Big 5!

Day 11: Nairobi / Day Rooms & Depart
To day you will fly to Nairobi where day rooms await your arrival. After a farewell dinner at Nairobi’s famous Carnivore Restaurant, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure flight.
